Nonsamran School Request for Fall 2007

Director Pakjira sent Panpim a request for the Fall semester 2007 on April 6 2007 as follows:

TEXTBOOKS and WORKBOOKS for

1. Thai
2. Math
3. Science
4. Social Studies
5. English (by MAC Publishing)
6. Vocational Studies (?)

The number of students for this academic year:

Grade 1 = 6
Grade 2 = 4
Grade 3 = 4
Grade 4 = 5
Grade 5 = 7
Grade 6 = 6

Dongsamran School request

The Dongsamran School's principal requests varieties of books for the library and lets me choose the subject matters.

Since both the Nonsamran and Dongsamran Schools serve grades 1-6, the subjects should be on:
1. history
2. geography
3. proverb and fables
4. literature
5. science and health
6. plants and animals

I will visit Wattanapanich publishing house to select books for these two schools around the end of March.

Requests from Nonsamran School

A trip to Nonsamran Village afforded me the first opportunity to buy necessary books for needy children.



I asked Mrs. Pakjira, Director of the Nonsamran School, what kind of books to get for the students.

She is asking for skill exercises and workbooks for all classes and on all subjects, with emphasis on Math, Thai, English, and Science.

On a trip to visit the school, I asked 6 girls in grades 5 and 6, who were my guides, and got additional information. These are what they would like to read:

1. Aesop's fables and stories with moral lessons
2. Fairy tales, folklores, childrens stories

In my opinion, these topics are equally worthy:

1. easy-reading biographies of world-famous people
2. nature, and wildlife
3. Thai custom and traditions
4. Thai and world history
5. Geography
6. Classic literature (I don't think I'll get them a copy of "Khun Chang Khun Paan.")
7. healthy living (they can also read for their parents and elders)
8. easy English books

I will also get them a few copies of dictionaries and picture dictionaries.
